One thing I learned from the video that I did not know before is the amount of petitions the supreme court gets every year and also how many they actually accept. The video showed stacks of petition papers being sent in that are sent to the Supreme Court daily.
The most important take-away point I saw in the video was when one of the newer judges got to see the Supreme Court offices and other representatives for the first time. She talked about how the experience was life changing and helped her see a lot about how her like will shape for the rest of her time as a Supreme Court judge. I think this was important because of the fact that she appreciated getting to see this secret are of the U.S. that is so important to everyone who lives here and she didn't take any of it for granted.
The most surprising thing I learned was how long each member of the Supreme Court is in duty for. It said on average they stay active for sixteen years but a lot of the time go even longer.
Seeing this video and the discussion between the Supreme Court judges helped me understand a lot more about the Supreme Court and this major importance. It was also interesting to learn about their thoughts and discussions because normally you don't get to hear the perspectives of Supreme Court judges.
